A few of my mates' PCs have been infected with a virus they've got off Facebook.

They don't know what application or request or whatever it came from, so just be careful coz
one of their PCs is totally f*@ked now!

10/09/08 - Rick (Hairy) Smith

Picture the scene, James Bond perched on a dam at the beginning of Goldeneye about to jump off and save the world from tyranny and cat food. But oh no, it's not Pierce Brosnan who makes the jump, the lily-livered Remington Steel man had copped out and it's a stuntman who does the deed.

Well, to redress this injustice, myself and 4 other muppets have decided to put the B back into Bond and do the jump ourselves, myself being ‘Hairy’ Rick Smith, the other 4 being work colleagues. The real reason we’re doing this is called a mid-life crisis - I won’t go into anymore details!

The bottom line is the dam that Brosnan’s stuntman jumped from does exist, it's called the Verzasca Dam in Ticino in south Switzerland and we are planning on doing the deed on September 20th.

We are meeting all costs including travel, accommodation and the jump ourselves, but we think this is a good opportunity for sponsorship with all monies raised going to Rainbow’s. No money that is sponsored will be taken up by costs, food, beer, medical bills.

So go on, indulge yourself and help this worthwhile cause either by pledge or hard cash right now.

I don’t really need to say much about Rainbow’s as most people know them as the children’s hospice for the East Midlands and South Yorkshire providing respite, palliative and terminal care to families that include a child with a life limiting illness. Most people know what a fantastic job they do, but I'll press this point home because they do such a damn fine job!

Stats about the dam:

700 feet (210 metres for the youngsters out there) drop. That's nearly as high as Canary Wharf - on a good day. As a bonus, if you hit the dam then you get another jump entirely free!

It's a 7.5 second freefall which takes you to 120 mph and the youngest person who has jumped is 11, the oldest is 79! So no pressure there!

Please pledge on the form(s) available and dig deep – we will bring back photographic evidence of

the deed complete with any Andrex we have left.

Sponsor forms behind the bar...
